Ivan recently restored two vintage Ekornes Stressless leather recliners and ottomans - they look like new! They had areas of UV fading, mild cracking and spots where color was completely worn off. He custom mixed dye to perfectly match original. Leather was sanded, spray painted with dye and sealed with clear coat. Ivan even gave us small bottles of dyes and clear coat with instructions how to do future touch ups if needed. Impeccable craftsmanship and customer service for very reasonable price. Loved the convenience of him doing work at our home - a wonderful experience.+0Posted on Google![]()

Ivan does really nice work. His color matching is excellent. The final result: our two older Stressless chairs look great. And, his price was very reasonable given all the work that he did.Posted on Google![]()

I contacted Ivan because a 'button' on an Eames chair had pulled through the leather on the seat cushion. So easy to work with: Step 1 was to provide an online image of the cushion for his review. Step 2, the appointment. Quick and simple. Ivan drives to your location (in most cases, anyway). In this case, he fixed the problem in about one hour. The valuable chair now looks just like it did before the problem arose. We are very pleased. We also spoke with Herman Miller representatives and their 'fix' would potentially have been much more costly. We are pleased with the ease of working with Leather Repair World and the quality of the work done. The price seemed reasonable for hand craftsmanship in this day and age.Posted on Google![]()

I had several pieces of furniture that needed repair, a leather ottoman and chair and vinyl covered kitchen chair seats. Ivan was able to bring these pieces back to looking like new. He repaired holes, cracks, very worn areas, seams that had come apart and entire new padding and new upholstering. He also explained everything he was going to do, consulted with me if any issues came up (via text with photos), and provided a quote for each piece. I found his prices to be fair, he worked on a quick turn around and was always prompt. I would definitely hire him again. (Also, he offers a guarantee, if any issue should come up with the repairs, he will fix it no additional charge).+3Posted on Google![]()

Ivan fixed an Eames Chair for me that had years of cat scratches and other wear and tear taking away from its beauty. He worked fast (a few days) and when he was done it looked like brand new leather. I was amazed. Highly recommend!

Berkeley’s combination of historic homes, apartments, busy commercial spaces, and daily commuters puts plenty of stress on leather furniture and vehicle interiors.
Older homes around Elmwood, Claremont, and North Berkeley often feature well-used leather sofas, chairs, and recliners that develop surface wear, cracking, fading, and discoloration over time. At the same time, regular driving and commuting can cause accelerated wear on car seats, armrests, and other high-contact areas.
Whether you have a cracked leather sofa in a Berkeley apartment, a worn driver’s seat in a daily commuter vehicle, or a faded recliner in a Claremont home, our mobile technicians can bring the repair directly to you. Most projects can be completed on site, saving you the trouble of moving heavy furniture or taking your vehicle to another facility.

What types of leather items can you repair in Berkeley?
We work on leather furniture, automotive interiors, commercial seating, RV and boat interiors, aircraft interiors, medical furniture, and other leather and vinyl surfaces.
What damage can you repair?
Common repairs include scratches, scuffs, cracks, tears, stains, peeling, fading, discoloration, worn surfaces, and other cosmetic damage.
Can you come to my home or business?
Yes. Our mobile service allows many projects to be completed directly at residential and commercial locations, as well as dealerships and other convenient sites.
Can you match the color of older leather?
Yes. We can create a custom color match based on the existing leather and reproduce its shade, sheen, and finish as closely as possible.
Is it better to repair leather furniture than replace it?
Often, yes. If the underlying leather and structure are still in good condition, professional repair and refinishing can restore its appearance and significantly extend its usable life.
How long does a typical repair take?
The time depends on the type and extent of the damage. Many smaller repairs can be completed during one visit, while larger restoration projects may require more time.
How can I receive an estimate?
Send clear photos of the damaged area along with your location and a short description of the problem. We’ll evaluate the project and provide available repair options and an estimate.
